Picked up frag from LFS of "ice blue" chalice. Curious if anyone's seen something like this. Highlighter-blue body, orange mouths and yellow-green stalks around mouths. Awesome varietal - just curious if anyone'd seen thus and could ID it.

If you purchased it as an "Ice Blue Chalice," you have already ID'd the "trade name." If you're looking for a scientific name, my guess would be Echinophyllia species or possibly Echinopora species...

its a chalice, very nice one but just a chalice. you could call it a ice king chalice, (superking is already taken)
if you are not a "high end" coral chop shop it dosnt matter what you call it :) you could always send a frag to one of the chop shops and then once they put their name on it.
otherwise its just a no name chalice

Thanks for all the feedback. Realizing how much of the coral trade is branding, not the actual "common names" for coral.

Is there a truck for I.D.ing what the genus is? Chalice seems to be just the growth pattern...
