I got this guy today but was told it is an Aussie Chalice Oxypora? I do not see images that look like it. The photo does not do the BRIGHT orange justice.

As far as color goes it looks like a Miami hurricane but take it for what it is many nice corals don't have names. Nice chalice bay the way

Thanks for the response but it is not a Miami hurricane as far as I can tell. I have one in the tank and it does not look the same, but similar. This one is very bumpy and the eyes are pointed . I will try to post a better non- phone picture.

The first one to me looks like it is an echinophyllia if it has a green rim. Echinophyllia are the watermelons and reverse watermelons aka mummy eyes, BGM and aspera, etc. It could be oxypora if it really has pointy spikes around the eyes. The second is still a bit small to tell.

Miami hurricane is an echinophyillia while yours does resemble an oxypora which is more tooth like.nice piece though.

Can anyone help me with this chalice? I like it but I don't have a name
