I’ve had this for more than a decade — I bought it as a “high-end” piece but forgot the name. Oh btw: it probably grew 0.5” during this whole time! :(

Any help ID’ing it would be appreciated.

My rainbow chalice is a fast grower compared to this, doubling its size in 2 years!

Echinophyllia
Correct, definitely not an Echinopora but what does it look like? “Ultra Orange” (or something similar) rings a bell. Perhaps I’ll just name it and make kazillions selling it as frags? How about “Aussie Ultra Holy Grail Easter Fanta Chalice”
??? :)

Echinophyllia, not Echinopora. They are two different genera. As for the trade name, I don't know as I'm not good with trade names. I wouldn't count on being able to make much on frags of this coral as lobophylliid chalices (Oxypora, Echinophyllia, Echinomorpha) don't grow very fast.

I have many Echinophyllias (there, I’ve said it, lol) and understand their growth patterns. However, this one in particular has been the slowest in the tank! I was being silly on the last post btw
