I picked this chalice colony up from a vendor a while back. It wasn't much to look at when I got it, but has really become a spectacular piece IMO. Does anyone know if there is an "official" name for it? I have started to refer to it as the "Gold digger" chalice b/c of the golden eyes. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hard to say from the pic. The eyes in the pic look green but you say they are golden in color. So I'm guessing the colors in the pic are a bit off - no problem...it happens. It does not resemble any "named" chalice that I've seen but a name is just a name. If you love it, that's all that matters : ).

Nice pickup!

Thanks! and I really do. Its very unique. This picture is a couple months old, I need to snap a new picture, the color has gotten even more intense. Can anyone give me an idea on the species? I know its not an echinophyllia...

With what I have noticed on the new growth, it is starting to resemble the toxic pie chalice. Does anyone know what species the toxic pie belongs to?

Similar to Toxic Pie, but different. I had a colony exactly like that, came from Australia. I have seen a named piece like that a while back, forget what they were calling it.
