Hello all,
So i have this big beautiful chalice in my 120 gallon tank. I moved tanks, and then placed the chalice in a higher level, and also increased the lighting.
The chalice began to turn pale, but its tentacles still feed, and it seemed pretty active. I belatedly put the chalice farther down in the tank, and also improved the Alk (it was down in the 6s for several months as i hadn't reset up my dosing).
At the same time my acans, flavia and other LPS were all doing well (and some very very well).
So now the chalice is in lower light (and i turned down the light overall of the tank), and has better Alk (running about 8.3-8.5). It still feeds aggressively (tentacles extend well etc), but it is still pale.
My plan was just to continue to wait for it to rebound, but is there anything that i can consider doing for it. I feel bad for neglecting it. When the blues are on, the coral still looks fantastic, it just looks pale when the whites are out.
