Hi there,

I've had this avatar chalice for a couple of weeks now. I'm about to do a water change and test so I can state my parameters. I have seen it eating frozen krill I've left in its bowl.

It's about 3-4 inches under a fluval marine & reef light over a fluval evo nano with full blues and cyans, half red and violet, only 3 percent white light for a couple hours a day. First photo is when I first got it, last two are from today. It does seem like the light blue area has grown but the green is non-existent now. I don't see the flesh receding or looking strange otherwise.

Thoughts?

Might be too high light for the chalice, they tend to like very low light levels. What are the rest of the parameters in the tank though; salinity, temp, calcium, alkalinity, phosphate, nitrate, etc

Hi there! I decided to try light first and do a water change once a week -- and it seems to be working to have the lights be a bit lower! I didn't test params because I figured I'd start with light and trying to keep everything else stable and then mess with additives if I needed to -- but since no other corals were looking bad, I just decided to go with less light. Posting photos of it today, you can see the green coming back toward the bottom on the outside. In person it's a bit more visible, but I'll take that I can see it in the photo (however small) for now.

I guess I'll add that I changed my lights to absolutely no white at all, and dimmed blue/purple/red/teal to about 50 percent for less time per day. The other corals don't seem to mind, even the green birds nest i have
