I am looking at doing a encrusting montipora / leptoseris and chalice only tank ( Of course there will be a few zoas here and there haha) . My question was I am planning on lighting it with 2 ai sol blue I already have 1 so I figured It would be easy to by another than get t5's . I am wondering what is a good tank size for this ? The biggest I want to go is 90g at the very most because thats all the lights will really do . I was figuring in my head that a taller tank will do better because the montis like high light but in world wide corals 500 they are growing on the floor and so are the leptoseris with the chalice on the bottom 1/4 of the tank . I always thought the monti are a top 3/4 of the tank coral and leptos were 1/4-2/4 I guess I am wrong because wwc's are insane in color . So my question to you guys is what size tank with 2 ai sol would be the ideal size for growing these corals ? Do I want a 48x24x16 80g deep blue and hang the sol's high and do it like wwc with everything low or do I get a 75g and put the montis up high ? I have only had a biocube reef before so Its very confusing because when I had a ai nano on it no matter where I put the coral it had to much light or not enough because its a shallow small tank .
