I got this chalice about a month ago. I noticed some tissue that appeared to be dying on 1 corner so I did a iodine dip. I’ve done this with zoas and acans before and normally this helps. I was kinda shocked that after a 30 second dip so much color disappeared. Not sure if it will make but this was one of my favorites. 3 progression shots.

Iodine is all I've ever used for LPS and chalice corals. Was it possible that it was mixed to strong? Typically I'd let the chalice sit for 5 minutes in the dip. It looks a bit upset at the moment, post another pic after a day or 2 to see how it's doing. That's a nice chalice.

I’m sure I overdid the iodine. I normally mix in just enough iodine to make the solution so you can’t see through it, which worked fine in the past. I was kinda shocked that most of the orange color was gone after 30 seconds.

I have used iodine a few times just as a dip then switched it up. But now worried it may change the colors.

It’s looking worse today, if this recovers it will be a miracle. The tissue recession started when my ATO flooded the tank. Today I found the culprit behind that. A nerite snail got in the chamber with my float and pushed it down. Darn thing did it twice before I figured it out. Just when you think you have your bases covered........

Fortunately everything else is fine. This was my newest coral so I guess it was in a weaker state than the rest.

No, just DI water. I manually dose everyday.

That's good! The more I read stories that stuff happens like this the more I want to dose manually.

I like it better than the other rainbow chalice I have, just don’t tell my wife that.

Still here but far from turning the corner. I am surprised at how many mouths there are. When I got this and it was healthy I could only see 1.
