Here's my plain one.
I have no idea what it's called. It has changed colors a little bit, it's starting to get purple around the edge.

Should these things be on the substrate? Or does it matter?

Lighting is 2 250w 14k SE MH.

Keeping chalices low in the tank is best as they are lower light species, but keep them off the substrate. Any sand pushed up onto them by snails or current will quickly kill the flesh under it. Also make sure there is good current over it so that detritus can't build up on it and do the same thing.

I have kept mine higher. Both on the T-5's and MH. Its has made the colors come out a lot more in the higher light. Thats been my experience...

i've never had a problem putting chalices in the sand as long as they don't get flipped over or covered up by sand.......just like pretty much any other coral.

I've moved my chalice. It was right under a MH. Now I've got it half under an over hang, about the same height in the tank.

Should I get it further up the rock? More shadow.
Or just leave it and see what happens?

tick on it... I'll ask somewhere else.

Your welcome to use any other forum you like especially when you get this angry over someone not answering a post.

To be honest I didnt even see the question under the pic..

To answer your question I would leave it be looks like it's doing better IMO.

I pmed you back and I am not angry at all thanks. ;)

I'm not angry either... I just don't understand how this site works.

Well... now that we all know we're not angry.
How does one go about getting help from someone on this board?
Is it normal for a question to go unanswered for a week? Or longer?

sometimes if a new post is unanswered for a day or so it will not be on the front page and a lot of people look at the front page and new posts only you may sometimes have to give your thread a bump to get it back to the front page and it will get picked up on quicker, dont get mad and just bump your thread someone will get to you there are a lot of very smart people here with a lot of knowledge

Did we not answer the question?

bamachamp is right. We are not near as big as other forums and sometimes new threads get lost. Sorry.

Yes... bamachamp did answer the question.
Thank you bamachamp... I appreciate it.
