What would be the optimum way to remount this chalice?

Should I try to frag before I remount? If I did, could I just cut it right in half with a razor blade?

I would leave it as is, maybe push a little putty and make a more slant on the right side, Left side seems pretty slanted with no 90 dagree turn and front side is already starting the dreaded 90 dagree turn.

Hey M, how come you say the "dreaded 90 degree turn"?

I am not 100% if this is what he meant but, in my experience, when a chalice faces a 90° turn from horizontal to vertical, that it will have to grow over, the side that has to grow over the turn will be significantly set back in terms of growth in comparison to the rest of the chalice, basically a growth stunt. This can easily be fixed by the putty method m and m suggested.

Yup! When chalices are growing down then need to grow horizontal again I feel it takes so long. Don't get me wrong most quick growing chalices it's not that bad but I know most slow/Moderate growing chalices I feel it takes two to three times longer to make that turn. I have had situations like yours and I would either clip it and make a no eye frag and then putty it or just chop the three eyes off at the top and putty it. I'm not suggesting that to you, but If it was a super slow grower and I wanted it to be more flat I would go that route.

OK, think I got it. The back side looks similar to the front, but I don't think the dreaded 90 has happened yet. Would it be correct to say if I wanted to avoid the 90 on the front I could possibly pop the whole thing off the base and mount it on something higher so that I can build a ramp up with putty? I have aquastick. Great big stick of it. ;)

I was thinking if I was going to frag it I was thinking diagonal starting from the top left to the bottom right, basically making a 3 eye frag (left side) and a 4 eye (right side). If I did frag it would it be eaiser to re-mount both sides in a better way?
