Yes they do grow and can get quite large if left alone.

they are slow growth corals that are not easy too keep. But they do grow and do release tenticles at night that trap food. Ive seen some over 8" in width. THe high end peices are always small becuase of the prices they fetch. But if your system is stable and you feed them you will see growth in weeks usually
I have a Miami hurricane that is at least 4" across and it grew pretty fast I have others same age and some are bigger and some haven't grown to much at all but I'll rarely frag em because I like colony stuff not frags so I keep them big

We have a Hollywood Stunner got it size of a half dollar in a year it's 10-12 inches around.

I have a non-tyree cotton candy knockoff chalice that is about 7-8" across with about 45-50 eyes. I just let it grow. When it gets to the point it will no longer fit anywhere it will get cut. All chalices grow differently. Stick the tyree blue or the hollywood stunner a little higher up in the tank and it will grow like a weed. I got a frag of the tyree blue a year ago from a fellow reefed who was giving pieces away. His colony actually curled and made layers like a monti cap does. Colony had three layers going from 8" down to 5" on the top layer. But ixhave had an unknown chalice for over a year now that maybe has grown 1-2 eyes and is still not off the frag disk.

Nice Steve i'm going to pick up my Hollywood stunner frag from a friend. Cant wait till it grows! cant beat 5 bucks

Feed them give them light and make them happy. I've seen some chalices hate flow and light. But mine loves the high flow and its placed mid level in my tank. My tank is only 12" tall.
