hi,is it new growth ,or losing tissue?
from what i see looks like she's got a good growth ring.. :)

It is not loosing tissue but the part in the front started rolling up and most of the green is usually down on the plug and thicker

with growth like that ... ;Woot ain't broke don't fix it ..

Mine do the same thing when I touch them and make them shrink up. Maybe something is rubbing it and making it get mad. When it's open and happy it will touch the frag plug and shouldnt see the underside of the skeleton.

Maybe it’s detritus under the plug or and those hard tube like barnacles. I think I had a little nitrate swing also. removed A huge colony if blue shrooms on a tongue branch and gave to lfs. It’s only a 50 gallon cube up and running 15 years. But I just got into the chalices recently. I guess I enjoy there beauty but now watch all the parameters especially magnesium. The scans seem to hate the high kh so I keep around 7-8 but the mag is 1500 and calcium at 400

I don’t know, but it definitely can get out of hand. I traded some dry rock for this chalice. Following.

I'm wondering if yours is not getting enough light and its reaching for more light. What size tank, and lights are you using?

It looked like this when I got it. Was in a 150g. Tank was primarily SPS, so I don’t think they lighting was bad. It actually looks like it’s starting to reverse in my tank, back to what I think is normal. But it will always have them hump. Now it’s in a 32g Biocube.

there are different types of "chalice" corals, and as the name suggests, they want to naturally grow in the shape of a chalice, or cup.

your coral is just following it's natural instincts.
