So I’m doing heavy restart of my entire system.
I am a massive fan of chalice of any sorts.
Now making most of my tank restart, I’m thinking of building a chalice island.
Now the question is, which chalice I can put close together?

I was hoping for a bit more elaborate answer

From my experience chalice coral will burn the f out of any coral that touches it and will generally win. Not sure how 2 touching each other will go. They grow quicker at the higher mag levels

I have made something similar, but it failed due to growth rate of each one, I think i had 5 different ones in total, and 2 of them really took off growing overtaking other ones, i end up relocating all of them to different spots in a tank

You need to check on the specific type of chalice. A lot of chalices are incompatible with each other because they are different species. Pick the ones that are similar in structure and growth rate if you want to put them near each other. I had Hollywood Stunner and bubblegum chalices growing together to the point that they fused, the other chalice I had next to them was a John deer I believe and they stung the life out of it in one night. This was after a couple of months of them growing together.

I do understand principles of keeping chalices. I was hoping that someone would give me examples of “compatible” chalices types that can grow/exist one next to the other

Just like above the waters, everything is good until your neighbor pushes your border. Eventually one will try to push the other out. No such thing as compatible when you have two animals trying to occupy the same real estate.

Works with torches
