Chalices always die

I cannot keep a chalice alive for more than three to six months. They look good, start to grow and then BAM.

I have tried different lighting locations, different flow locations and same outcome.

Anyone else have a hard time with these things?
What's the secret?

I have had a poor history with them, but right now I’ve got a couple that seem to be doing well, though they’re still pretty small. I just give low moderate flow, moderate light and I feed the whole tank pretty heavily daily with frozen.
This is one I got from SBB live sale last early spring. May not look very large but it has grown quite a bit.

This was given to me about 3 months ago by a friend. Heathy but slowly slowly growing

Here’s where they are. At the top top the bottom third of the tank don’t know par but I’d guesstimate probably 150-170

Thanks . I had another but it got stung by a bubble tip that decided to wander. Another small one but was doing well for a few weeks til that incident.

I grew out a raja rampage near top of my rock work, about mid tank height. Grew from 2” to 8” just fine then suddenly bleached, receded, and died. I have some obscure theories but I really have no concrete idea of what happened.

All while that was happening, this other chalice was, and continues to be unaffected.

I find that while Chalice corals are easier corals they still do require stability and very good parameters. Also some are challenge to keep alive and can be as difficult as Acros.

I would say PO4 is important and I keep it at 0.1 to 0.2ppm, higher level is ok. Going below 0.1ppm I get unfavourable results.

They are on my list of corals I can not keep They start off OK then start receding. I've tried in different tanks with the same results.

Here’s my Raja Rampage, growth over past 10 months. I keep it at the bottom of the tank, in 80 par, with low to medium flow.

They have been tough corals for me too. These too have been doing well at 80-90 par.
