Any one else experience this on their tanks running leds? My mummy eye is turning orange, my miami is turning red, etc... Some dont seem to be affected by the leds but some are changin colors very rapidly. Any guesses on why this happens under leds and not under t5 or halide? Here is a pic of my miami turning red.

I'm not sure why some corals change their color under led's, but that My Miami looks sweet.

Yes they will definitely morph under LEDs. A collector in my area ran AI SOLs over his Lps tank and everything either fried or morphed weirdly.

That's cool unless you want your My Miami to actually look like a My Miami :)

I had that happen to me awhile back. I didn't wait to see if they would morphine back to original color, which I'm sure they would have, because I went back to MH/T5 relatively quick.

Fwiw, mummy eyes are known to go Orange at times under any lighting.

Good luck, I hope that Miami straightens out for you.

Many of my chalices look way better under my Radions than they ever did under my MH. Esp My Miami and Crazy Fox, Only one that really changed was Pink ******* turned orange.

I had the same exact thing happen to me, what intensity do you have your lights set to. I ran my radions peaked out at 50-55 percent at midday, thinking back I wish I would have only maxed out around 40 or so. I switched back to t5 and I'm starting to slowly see my my miami morph back on areas that are getting indirect light. As for my 3g mummy eye, it looks pink with a greenish hue and a green rim, due ot the indirect light. I would say either dial down your lights, or move it to a spot where they will get indirect light. Whats your spectrum like, running primarily a 20K setting may help speed things up. Best I got, hope this helps, unless you like the morphs, it is quite annoying.

LEDs can change the colors (to a point). I would agree that you need to dial back the intensity. I am using the vertex sr260 and mine have generally stayed consistent to what they should be but I believe they just look so much better than when I did MH. Also, depending on placement they can change for better or worse.

I dont mind them losing color. Currently my royal blue is set at 100% blue at 80% white at 10% green at 15% and red at 50% peaks at 80% for six hours. My tanks is sps dominated when I try to dial it back i begin losing some color in my acros. Small price to pay for a mixed reef. Ive I notice the more blue I run the more "true" my colors stay. The second I mess with the white (which I did recently) things start to change. I'm not unhappy just curious as to why this might happen with leds at least at a more rapid rate than t5s or halides.

Color spectrum perhaps? I ran some LEDs over my frag tank for a bit but switched back to T5 pretty quick. Couldn't stand paying for expensive chalice that will look like something else later.

I've noticed my acros will change a bit under leds. They are growing/encrusting very fast, but the leds seem to bring out a lot of green in my acros. I have turned blues up and whites down so.I will see what that does, if not improvement I may go led with t5s.

I think its strange I havnt seen another thread started on this but it seems to be no an uncommon thing for people to have leds change their coral colors on them!

Makes me nervous about my radions. Got them for the new tank, but maybe T5s would have been better since I am a chalice lover. Would love to hear if they continue to change/what happens over time.

The Digital Fishtroom sponsor made a few comments and posted some pics awhile back about certain chalices morphing. Let me see if I can find it. I don't keep up with the LED world but I would think the newer fixtures with the wider spectrums don't have as many morphing problems.

I run radions which are full spectrum and they still morph. Also its weird my par meter only registers the majority of my tank at 250par. But apogee claims their meters dont read blue leds correctly and you need to add like 20% to your reading.
