I've heard a lot that chalices love "dirtier" water. What's the best way to make chalices thrive in super "clean" water?

Feed them more than normal. Use AA's that are designed for LPS corals. Thats what I do and I run Zeovit...

Maybe this is why my chalices took a turn for the worse lately. I am now using Zeovits Phol's xtra, AA's and sps coral food. I may give chalices another shot later on.

Which amino acid do you use? And if I don't have time to feed them am I just destined to get out of the chalice game?

What would you consider more than normal?

I have found a happy medium at every other day. The key though is too use a very high quality, high protein food. I have found that the pellets actually are rejected by a lot of the chalices, several hours after feeding, so I stopped using them and have gone to my own frozen blend. Seems to me that corals injest natural, "real" food much better. Another trick I do, since I am running Zeovit is I feed my fish heavily. The fish waste is an excellent food for all the corals in the tank, and is readily broken down, by the Zeovit system.

Try the Zeovit LPS AA's, I have seen a huge improvement in my chalices when I started using them.

Billy, Zeovit LPS AA's. If you dont have time to feed them, try just feeding your fish a lot, as that may help. You may just experience decreased growth, but hopefully the health of the chalice remains good.
