Before you ask I'm at work and I don't have photos, just want some input.
All three of my chalices have been dying, first my green blue (almost completely gone), then my magma (it's starting to recover), and then my cloudberry (already half gone!!!)
Now here's the odd thing, all my other lps (balasto, dragon soul favia, and wall hammer (this one's grown twice in size and won't stop)), my sps (mr. freeze montipora and acro ), and all my softies (three zoas and two GSP ) have been doing just fine? My personal theory is that the hammer has been taking up calc but I don't know if that's possible and why it only effects the chalice, I've been uping dosing to keep a constant 400-430 PPM, also been feeding reef roids.

my nitrates are under .2 PPM, no ammonia, and calc has been between 400 and 430 PPM

all of them are on the same level, a little under half for level so mid bottom level, could they not be getting enough light? too much?
I run current USA, one orbit marine and one orbit marine pro
here's par reading, just general

they are at about 13 inches deep but I need to measure again

What’s your alkalinity? You need at least 6.5 to 8 and any sudden drops can kill. It’s the first thing corals use up, before using up Calcium

I'll have to test for that because I don't remember the results but I did test and dose but to be honest I can't remember what level I was keeping it at

You also need to be dosing daily or better the daily amount split to multiple doses per day to not shock or damage them

okay thank you, yes I am below 6, about 5.5. I think I should do smaller doses throughout the day to get that up to 8. I think that's my killer. Still isn't it odd it's only the chalices?

Yikes, big time trouble for everything if left like that. Get it in small doses up to 6.5 within the day. Then slowly get it to 7.5-8 in a week or two and keep stable at all times.
Chalice like high alkalinity, so it’s not odd. Don’t raise alkalinity fast or your Acropora might get necrosis

relating to the highlighted poll I just had another AHA moment, do you think my chalices will make it? I know 100% the blue green won't but the cloud berry and magma still have over half the flesh on it

would something like this be a good idea?

A dosing pump is always a good idea. For something cheaper that works well look for the Fish street dosing pump, it works for me.

Chalice are pretty hardy, as soon as alkalinity become normal again they should start recovery

thanks for the help!
