I'm new to the hobby and need some advice. I've only had my tank for a couple of months and would like to buy a chalice. I read that in order to keep chalice coral, the tank has to be at least year old or matured tank. Is this true? Thanks

Maturity isn't so much an issue as your parameters. What are your parameters and how stable are they?

+1, I would just keep an eye on your Parameters and if their stable I would give it a shot.. But you'd hate to throw a $60 Dollar coral in there and just watch it die.

I've been watching my parameters, they have been stable, my salinity is at 1.025, I have some acans, frogspawns, zoas and some riccordeas in there. Thanks for the advice.

Like people were saying just keep your parameters stable and start it off in a shaded or low light area... When I first started I fried a few with my LEDs... Not very fun watching hundreds of dollars die in front of you...

My tank hasn't hit one year yet and I have 40 sps colonies and a lot of chalices and LPS. Corals are thriving in there

Stable means ur alk cal and mag are not going up or down,
Ur phos and nitrate are low to 0. Not just ur salinity.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I will follow my water parameters closely.
