This guy, is special. He stays here, all the time. At night, floats around sideways on top of the water like he's dead. He eats like a pig, and is healthy. Why does he refuse to swim around? Only other tank mate is a cleaner shrimp, sexy shrimp, some hermits and snails, and a tail spot blenny. He doesn't get bullied. There's corals and flower nems. I know he won't host those. What is his issue?

All clowns are special in their own way. Chances are that he'll leave his corner eventually, but I've heard of clowns that will claim a corner of the tank for years.

A belated welcome to R2R by the way.

Thanks! Yeah, he's super cool. Eats off the end of the pipette etc. He's not afraid of anything, just stays there. My husband thought he was dead or dying when he saw him floating around in his side and I had to convince him that he's just kind of window licker special like that. We've had him for a couple weeks, so maybe he'll eventually use the whole 10 gallon tank.

Clown's tend to stay by their home. Maybe he'll use 5 of your 10 gallons

It just sucks to spend a really ridiculous amount on a 1.5 inch fish to have it sit in a corner lol!

Oof. The husband says he needs a friend. My wallet says another black storm isn't happening. And finding one smaller than him might happen, though it ain't gonna be no storm. And the corals I have say a bubble tip isn't happening. So I guess baby stays in the corner.

Dudette, my three clowns have a 75 gallon paradise and they use every bunch of it. Plus they're mixed. Last night they were actually snuggling the anemone. Today they are again open water fish. So yeah, don't worry. Its nature, it doesn't have to make sense.

Although they are playful and adorable, clowns usually aren’t the brightest bulbs on the tree, if you get my drift.
I have a pair of snowflakes and they both sleep on their sides at the top of the tank. Once the lights come up, they are perfectly normal, as far as clowns go anyway.
The only other fish in my tank is a six lined wrasse. The wrasse swims in and out of my huge frogspawn and the clowns just watch. They would rather have a bromance with the MagFloat. Go figure! LOL!
