Champtain's Red Sea Max Nano Build

Spoke too soon, woke up this morning and one of my clowns decided to go carpet surfing in the middle of the night. Needless to say I purchased the DIY screen top, hopefully it will be here by tomorrow.
Oh no did the clown survive?

It’s been awhile. Not a whole lot to report back, but here’s a little update:

When it comes to lights, I'm an idiot. I had my AI Prime at 100% on all channels, and well, hair algae. I just thought it was part of my cycle, but since I’ve gotten my new light (hydra 26 hd) figured out, the hair algae has subsided and I’ve gotten a few corals.

Ai has some great settings you can download for your Hydra 26 in their "Signature" group, you may like one of them. ;)

Well, ran to the clownfish breeder today and bought another clown. I thought it would look like the current one, but it definitely doesn’t. Oh well. (The new one is the top one)

how does the screen look on the tank? love the look of this tank, keep it up!

Sorry for the delay. Got the screen top made (kind of a pain, but not terrible). Hit up the LFS and got some more zoas, ric, and SPS frag (I’m terrible with names of corals), and grabbed an Apex probe holder. Have to upload some pics tomorrow.

Does anyone else have a small heart attack when they check their tank first thing in the morning and find a couple white antenna in their power head just to find their shrimp has molted. Just me? Okay.

My max nano started in January this year. Used life rock as well, but no substrate. How often are you doing water changes and how much?

Since I'm in FL, I added a chill solutions chiller. Keeps tank at constant 76.6

Aside from the clown fish incident, have you encountered any other issues?

I had a cyano outbreak about a month ago. Under control for now.

Nice build.

I added a second clown, and they both ended up getting Brooklynella, by the time I got a QT tank set up they both died. Other than that, no issues. Had a small algae outbreak, but did two 5 gallon water changes a week and it went away in 2 weeks, I still do 1-2 a week. Since then just a pineapple sponge outbreak and a lot of coral growth. I also got a tomato clown, and traded my orchid dottyback for a yellow head sleeper goby a few weeks ago and they just got transferred in from my QT a couple days ago. Since then my. Sandbed has been pristine and my anemone has been hosted.

“Leave me alone, I’m sleeping.”
