Chance of blowout??

So this is my 125 gal tank and its recently done cycling and i have two burrowing goby. one engineer goby not sure what the other one is but it burrows too. My rock is on top of the sand the ends of the tank have the larger rocks which are closer to the bottom but not sitting on the glass the center mansion of tunnels and caves are a collection of smaller rocks. How worried should i be of them causing the whole thing to collapse and causing major problems?

You should be VERY worried with an engineer goby. I would suggest getting everything epoxied and then move the sand around so the rock is as close to the glass as possible.

That's how I had my first system crash. Had my rocks on the sand and my engineer goby dug out enough of the sand and eventually my rock work came tumbling down. Unfortunatly I didnt have a reef ready tank and my heater was glass and the rocks cracked it causing everything in the tank to die.

So just now i put all the base rock pretty much all the way on the glass to the point where nothing can get under it. Just the larger rocks then the smaller ones sit on top the larger base rocks but they are pretty sturdy. Do you think that will be okay?

Yeah, for now as long as the rocks are pretty much on the glass. But In a little while, I’d say get some reef epoxy. But for now you should be fine

Are you saying i should epoxy the rocks together or the rocks to the bottom glass?

Unless you have massive boulders in there, theres not enough velocity due to the water to cause a blowout of the bottom if the did collapse. .. worst case scenario, you'll have to escape em.

Epoxy rocks together. I wouldn't epoxy to the glass just in case the rocks need to moved

My engineer gobi dug out so much around my rocks that he actually killed himself when one of the rocks fell on him. The wife & I felt really bad when it happened. wont get another.

That's crazy they are so cool. But all of the rocks that are touching the sand are sturdy and to close to the glass to fall so i hope im in the safe.

Massive as in much bigger than would fit in a 125g. Those lil rocks aren't massive, lol

Sounds like you did the right thing so you should be ok, I hope so anyway.
