I have the 4 stage BRS RODI unit. When first installed after flushing I was getting a 0 reading until last week when it went up to 2. I just changed the DI resin and ran it for a couple hours and my readings are now 5, why did it increase to 5 with new resin?

Did you pack the resin tightly or get a pre-made filled cartridge? If not packed tightly, this could be the reason as all the water is not touching the resin as it passes thru.

You need to check your tds after the membrane before it goes to the DI. If it is reading anything much over 20 tds then you will need to either replace the membrane or you will just keep burning thru DI resin.

I just had to replace mine because I was having the same problem. Going on two months now after replacing the membrane and still at 0 tds and same DI resin. I know they are not cheap but neither is DI Resin, ha.

I run a Kent Marine RO/DI Hi S (high silicates) unit, I've tried other resin filters with it to save a few $ and my water will not zero out, the only one that will is the Kent Marine Hi S resin filter, works like a charm you might try them out.
