i have a 40g breeder that i desided to try leds went with a cheaper 120watt tao set up well everything is fine but my coralline has all turned white
i had 250watt metal halide 20k xm with hamilton cabo sun refletors , lumatec ballest. do you think that the leds put out more light to bleach coraline
my sps are doing great lps stated to bleach so i rased it up 3" now are coloring back up they are 7 inches off the water 2 inches higher than halides
should i go higher with led

That happened with my 120W Evolution fixture. Too close to the water so I raised it up. Those LEDs put out a TON of light at full blast. My next system will be dimmable and raised way up in the canopy so I can adjust via dimming before moving them lower.

If they are not dimmable, then that is what did it. Try putting 4-5 layers of screen over the tank, then remove one layer every 4-6 days, and your corals should acclimate.

You can also shorten the amount of time you have them on during the day. Then slowing increase the amount of time back up to where you had it originally.

+1 on just shortening the photo-period, your coraline should return, it got shocked with the increased par.
