I've noticed lately that when I get a email notification from R2R that someone has replied to a thread I'm subscribed to, it no longer contains what was said in the post.
It use to.
I went back and looked in my deleted email file and the last day I got a notification that contained what was said, was on 7/20.
Everything after that only contains a simple email that someone replied to the thread.
I haven't changed any settings.

We'll have to wait for the Rev to chime in. It might have been caused by a newly installed add-on.

I noticed the change and also don't seem to be getting any emails now on watched threads. I just unwatched and watched again to see if it corrects.

We've been testing out some things. I have set this back now, for now, while we continue to text.

Thanks.

Thank-you.
I really like the ability to see what is said when I get the notification.

I do as well! We just want people to interact with messages and post and not view them in email and move on.

People like you visit daily and post. I will find a way so that members like yourself will see the text snippets so no worries and thank you.

Speaking for myself, I will read the email and click on the "View This Thread" link as a way to check if more replies have been posted - so it's kind of best of both worlds. ;)

Thank you and that's the whole intention of the email!

Be careful with this. Not to sound rude but I like making decisions for myself in this regard.

Thinking about it more though, you could restrict the length of message to 40-50%. Giving us a sneak peak into the message? This would help us determine if it's important or pertinent. I think that would be a happy medium?

Or better yet, let the user decide via a setting in the CP ;)

Despite what WE want, still need to consider this is a business. Between sponsors and advertisements it's understandable that R2R needs traffic. But that balance between control and no control is what needs to be decided.
