I have a 40b with 20l sump but with roughly 40gal calculated total. My alk is 12.5 but want to lower to 9. I have muriatic acid to lower salt mix to 9 but how much percent would I need to change to lower the alk by 1dkh per water change.

from info @homer1475 gave me...

Quote:

Water volume x DKH drop x .123 = ML of acid to add. DO NOT, AND I REPEAT DO NOT ADD THIS TO A TANK WITH LIVING CREATURES IN IT!

Basically in laymens terms: for 30G of water to drop the DKH by 2:

30 x 2 x .123 = 7.38 or 7.4ML of acid.

if you need more specifics use search function on here for lowering alkalinity
