im planning on getting a current outer orbit 2x150w mh 4x39w t5ho fixture and i was just wondering if anyone has ever replaced the ballasts that comes with the fixtures with better ballasts like icecap ballasts?
im thinking about changing them out but on top of the fixture cost, it's going to be another ~300 and im just trying to figure out if its even worth the cost
im deffinately gunna change out the bulbs but thats a cheap fix

In less you already have the icecap ballast your looking at spending close to $1000 all together for the fixture and the icecap ballasts.

well, i have wholesale connections so its not going to be quite that much but it will be pretty high, thats why im trying to figure out if i should even do it
actually im thinking about atleast changing the t5 ballast to the 660 to overdrive the bulbs and maybe not the mh ballasts

I would go 2-250's if i was buying a fixture, really depending on the size tank

its only going over a 40br but the thing is i dont want the entire tank brightly lit so i can only keep sps
and plus im going to be changing out the bulbs or the t5's to 2 daylight and 2 actinics being overdriven by a ic660 ballast
