Changing Bio Media

hey guys, I use a cannister filter...and i thought about changing my bio media to Seachems "Matrix" when im changing the media should o change half and then wait a while and remove and add the next half? Change it all at once?

A guy at a LFS said to change the whole thing and just dont do a water change.

Just wanna know what the best advice is before I do anything like that.

I have a 65 G with mostly inverts...2 clowns a goby and RG.

I would keep some of the old media and the bottom and top off with new. I think you Should be fine with keeping a 1/4 without any issues.
