Well I started with a TLF reactor and its works (just barely).

The bio pellets are doing a great job on my nitrates which have been high forever in the tank even though it has 80# of rock and one moray eel in it. It runs through a sump with a bubble magus nac5 skimmer.

So the pellets are hard to keep rolling correctly in the TLF reactor so I am going to be upgrading to this:
Hydra Aquatics BioPellet Reactor

I have looked over many reactors and i feel this one would be great.
Do i need to do anything special when moving pellets from one reactor to the other? I plan to rinse the pellets in SW very well to remove some of the biofilm that is clumping the TLF reactor due to it not turning correctly.

It seems straight forward to me. Remove the old reactor and pellets.. rinse and put everything into the new reactor once its rinsed clean.

Am I missing anything? Is there a better reactor or different one i should research before making my decision?

My plan B is the avast DIY reactor:
AVAST Marine Works - MR5 Media Reactor Kit, 18" Tall - Product Details
with this nozzle
AVAST Marine Works - Biopellet Mixing Nozzle - Product Details
this is a larger reactor so planning forward I may go this way but time will tell I need to let the current reactor finish its 8 week cycle before I make a change.

Avast reactors are nice. I have one, and have been happy with it. I did add the new shower head nozzle to mod it for better tumble.
