What steps do i need to take to make a cichlid tank into a QT for my reef fish? I've already drained it, and got most of the substrate out. I assume I'll have to clean the canister filters, but I'm not certain how i should go about cleaning them, and what steps to take to get the tank itself ready. Thanks in advance ya'll!

I've always kept my QT simple. No substrate, good circulation, lighting and heating.

A good cleaning with old water from a water change is all I would do. Also, remember to cycle the QT.

Any special steps to take in cleaning? Do i need to sanitize anything? I was growing out some cichlids in this tank. Its a 46 gallon bowfront. The fish were pretty healthy and i just added them to my planted cichlid tank yesterday. I just want to be sure i don't mess this up. I'll probably use fritz turbo-start for the cycle. Heard great things about it.
