Changing DI Resin at whot TDS

Iv just looked at my ro water and its gone up from 0 tds to 1 tds" Would you swap the resin know or run at 1tds

its only run for around month and going up ?

yes always flush before I use again as not running 24/7

id say 300 gals of water" I use and fill drums then turn off! I flush for 15 minutes before using water

In answer to your original question, I change resin at 1 TDS, especially since I have SPS.
Mine too lasts about 1 month. The water in my city is terrible.

Do you know your TDS after membrane. Are you running a mixed resin ? Are you using a water softener?
If you want 0 TDS water than yes you will have to change the resin independent of how much gallon you made. With 300 gallon made it seems to me that is not to bad however it should give you more. There are a lot of factors that can eat up resin quickly. One is if you water supply contains chloramine and what kind of stages you run before the membrane that can not get completely rid of it resulting in a quick depletion of you resin. Have you ever tested your discharge water for total chlorine?. If you membrane has a rip or is no good high TDS will deplete resin quickly. One other aspect is that like for me I only run through The anion resin much quicker than the cation resin. All these question are to help you figure out how you could get more out of you Ro/DI unit.

throw the DI resin of the first canister out, and move the last one to the first spot.
put a new DI canister in the last spot.

I do this with three canisters. Extends the life significantly.

I change my DI resin anytime after it gets to around 1 TDS or thereabouts, but 1 is the trigger it needs doing.

iv just looked at the TDS before and after the membrane " its 145 TDS going into filter" and 2 TDS after membrane"

I run 2 stage RO unit" 1st cartridge is 5 micron filter and 2nd cartridge is carbon" This goes into 2 stage DI Resin

iv got a 3 stage DI unit after my 2 stage ro unit" but only run 2 cartridges in DI unit to save cost lol

so would chucking the 1st DI resin work and fill with new DI

I was burning thru di and added another carbon canister and changed my two year old membrane and so far after a couple of months I'm still at 0 tds. So it's already doubled my di resin life.

I change my di as soon as it reads 1. I also backflush my membrane every time I use it.
