So, I am changing my HOB filter from a marine land penguin to a sea chem one. I assume that in terms of beneficial bacteria their are no problems as most of that is in the live rock. Am I correct?
Thanks

I would lighten up on feedings for a few weeks though. Keep in mind that you will be removing bacteria feom the system. There will be lots in the bio wheel and filter pads. Your tank has reached a balance hopefully, and the filter is part of the balance so removing it will have some effect. As long as you have plently of live rock all should be well. You might want to consider ditching the hob filter altogether all you need is flow, live rock, skimmer and or water changes.
