Just got back in the hobby after a dozen or so years. Assuming that cupramine was the gold standard, I’ve been using it again in QT. However, due to some unexplained losses I’ve done my research and concluded that copper powder with the Hanna testing platform and prazzi will be my new treatment of choice.
I just placed a small yellow watchman goby and two small heniochus butterflies in my 29G qt. It’s going to be a few days before the CP and Hanna test kit arrives as my LFS only carries cupramine so I had to order. All are eating well, however the heni’s are flashing a bit on the PVC. I have prazi on hand, so if I go ahead and treat with prazi now, is it ok to add the CP during a prazzi treatment? Or should I hold off with the CP until I finish 2 rounds of prazi?
TIA

Consider first doing a freshwater dip to either confirm or eliminate flukes as the cause of the flashing.

That’s an good idea. They’re not flashing much, but I’ve seen it from time to time. They are very young fish, does that matter as far as tolerance to a FW dip?

Yep. Post FW dip. Safe to say they have flukes, I counted 15 between the 3 fish. Will give them a break for a few hours and start Prazi. Thanks for the help!

Wow...spot on Big G!! FW dips are very effective!!

Well, finished up first prazi treatment (5 days), did 20-25% water change and redosed
Prazi. Everyone looked good last night and ate well.
got up this AM and one of the heni’s is dead, no warning. Also the little watchman goby is swimming along the water column, never has done that before, acting strange. Both fish did eat this AM. Prazi OD perhaps?
making RO water for an emergency water change. Any idea?
Btw the ammonia alert badge is in the good range.

Also, if you look at the picture above closely, you can see the flukes. However there are a few round marble looking things. ??
I am definitely hesitant to start CP at this time.
