Hi there.
I have been having problems with the current salt I've been using so going to switch over to a much lower alk I have a few sps and lps I'm dropping down from 9.5 to the 7dkh salt. Is there going to be problems doing this? It's the first time Ive ever did thus in my 1 year of keeping marine

Hello,
What is the problem with the current salt? How long has your tank been setup?
You can always buffer your new Salt mix to 9.5 before doing water changes. If your corals are doing well then don't fix a problem.

I have been using d-d h2ocean pro. But my corals have been getting alk burn so would like to swap to something lower alk is stable but every sps I seem to add it's dying my alk sits between 9 to 9.6

Tank is over 1 year old
Ca 420-435
Mg 1320
Po4 0.01
No3 8

I would check with @Randy Holmes-Farley, but I don't think ALK is the issue.
I now run my tank in the 9-10 range and added flow and my tank is having better growth than I had at 8. 7 is low imo, but I am no expert as some people do well in that range.

I've been slowly adding more sps over the last few months, I've lost Montipora capricornis setosa, montipora confusa montipora hirsuta, so I'm kinda losing my mind as to why this is. my nitrate was high a few months back so started dosing nopox after two weeks this dropped down to half and after about one month it's sitting at 8ppm this caused my montipora hirsuta to brown out so I can rule this out. here is a picture of what I think looks like alkalinity burn.
