So i'm moving soon and will be tearing down my tanks and was wondering if it was wise or not to completely remove my sand and replace it with new Aragonite? I have Aragonite in my other tank and I like it better then the sand I have in this tank, I just dont wanna mess anything up and figured if I plan on changing the sand, nows the time...
Thank You

You will definitely have to re-cycle the whole process all over again.
Since there's a substantial amount of life on your current sand, removing it and replacing it with something else is a new ball game.

I also just completely changed my sand when upgrading to a larger tank. I used all the water from smaller tank and all the live rock. ZERO cycle.

I've moved three times all the same rock, coral and water. I always change the sand, Ive never cycled but I did use live sand for new sand bed, I also get rid of most of my fish and use microbacter . Keeping the sand is more risky imo, you expose that nasty toxic sediment to the inhabitants, if you want tips pm me.

Thanks for more replies, now im unsure if I should change the sand or not or maybe I should change just about 75% to keep some of the established sand in to help it along.. Also Mike If you still want that Sailfin I'll sell it to ya in a couple weeks...

I always replace the sand when I move tanks. Just use all the same water and rock from you old tank, and you shouldn't have any problems.

I had crushed coral in my tank, I removed rocks and fish in separate tank. I saved most of the water, then removed the coral and rinsed out tank. Placed Lr back in tank and water, fish then sand. I didn't have any problems!
