I currently have a Deltec Sc1351 but for what I feed and how my tank is stocked, I don't feel that it performs adequately.

I'm thinking of going back to a BubbleKing 150, an Akula or perhaps the SSS150. In videos I've seen of the Sss150, it appears to have a much larger volume of bubbles with longer contact time than my Deltec.

My apprehension here is that I change skimmers and it's a lateral move. I'd like to change for performance, not for build quality or longevity. I'm fine the Deltec in those regards.

Check out THIS Feldman paper. Doesn't specifically compare your skimmer choices, but part of my conclusion is that I doubt you'll see much of a difference.....All skimmers are poor performers only pulling out 30 - 35 %. Also, for what it's worth, the Deltec is rated up to 600 liters while the Bubble King, only to 350 liters.
