At the moment i have a 20 long reef tank. Someone in my area is selling a 46 gallon bow front saltwater set up for $250 with everything i need including testing kits, pumps and lights even rocks i need to start it. Would it be worth buying? My tank is going well but would it be worth the upgrade in the long run?

I would only buy it if it has a feature you absolutely want. If it's not the perfect upgrade, then be patient and wait. If you buy it and take the time to transfer only to realize you wish it had this, that or whatever and you can't have those features with that tank, you'll just regret buying it. Think it through. I always decide based on what livestock I want, then I buy the tank that meets those critters needs. So if you want a blue hippo tang sometime soon then you should wait. On the other hand, an upgrade is an upgrade and a learning experience to say the least.
I agree... if your going to go through the hassle of upgrading you might as well go as big as you can.
I wouldn't just get the tank because it's a little bigger, ands good deal. I'd think it over and make sure it's EXACTLY what you want... otherwise you may regret it.
