I got a Chaoti about 10 days ago and for the first week it seemed to do well. Was eating on day 1 and was active and did not seem stressed out. After a full week, I started treatment with General Cure bound to frozen mysis. It did not seem to enjoy it. Would eat it and then spit it out. I also gave it live blackworms just so it did not starve. I got a radiant wrasse at the time and it was eating the medicated food just fine. The two wrasses were both in QT together and did not bother each other. I had a small container filled with sand and they both slept in it at night.

This morning, the Chaoti did not come out of the sand. I wait a full day. I saw it peak its head out a few times but wasn't sure how it was doing as its mouth was open. I knew it was still alive because it would shift positions in the sand from time to time.

Just now, I see it fully out of the sand but laying on its side. Breathing a bit heavy. Any advise on next steps?

Did a FW dip but didn't see any flukes come out. put him back in QT and he's still listless and laying on his side.

I see some white spots on him, but some of it looks like sand that's stuck to him (I have sugar grade sand) and some of it looks like scratches. His stomach looks protruded only but mainly because his body is contorted.

Chaoti wrasse are extremely difficult to adapt to aquaria. While they are my favorite of the leopard species I don’t keep one. I have 6 of the other species of leopards. What do the spots look like?

Unfortunately, he passed away overnight. The spots looked liked his coating had scraped off. The others looks like grains of sand, which could actually be the sand that's stuck to him.
