So, I was at the Critter today and Lo and Behold a Minty Fresh Acro in their frag tank
I'm quite excited i've wanted to try acros for some time now.

You need to slowly move it up from the sand bed to acclimate then to your lights. Every couple of days move it up a couple of inches until you have it placed where you want it.

My limited experience with acros has taught me that when they're sufficiently stressed out, they will shed their zooxanthellae and lose color no matter what the reason (light, chemistry, temp, etc.) When you get a coral from a fish store, you know what kind of lights they had maybe, but that doesn't mean much considering they don't acclimate their livestock, and you really can't know what the coral was used to before they got it. Consider finding a spot with moderate light (maybe off to the side) and lots of flow, and just leaving it alone for a while. It can take two weeks or longer before a stressed coral loses color, so if in a few days it gets pale don't just assume it's unhappy and move it - that would just stress it out even more.
