Cheap ato system for 3.7g reef

Im totally new to the reef scene and I'm looking for a cheap ato for my 3.7g.
Any recommendations for a cheap system or maybe an easy DIY thanks in advance.

I did an inexpensive DIY ATO - a Toms' AquaLifter, a timer and an ATO reservoir. You'll have to experiment with timing, but on my 8 gal frag tank it kicks in at 6am for 10 mins & at 6pm again 10 mins - works like a charm.

Yea and the first time the valve sticks it dumps the entire res into tank. I'ld pass on this one...

Gotcha, thanks.... Also when buyimg an ato do you need a special reservoir or will a 5gal bucket work?

Any container will work. My first ATO res was a 5 gal bucket.

The Tunze nano ATO is simple. $100 though. Mine sits in a 100g bucket it comes with hose and the float switch and a clamp. Pretty much plug and play.

I’ve always used the smart ATO, (micro size). It runs about $100, but super reliable and Easy to use!
