All my acros and non acros are the cheap varieties. I like torts and monti digi, birdsnest, stylos. Etc... unfortunately I've never been good with names.

Seems like vendors are always coming out with newly named rainbow tenuis, but the Walt Disney and Orange Passion are classics to me. You can get chunky frags from local reefers for $80 or less, and to me, they look better than most of the tenuis variety that's out there.
Been a struggle to find orange passion for me, usually in grow out or not available from the sellers on here. Finally snagged a piece from coral euphoria. He was dragging it at the time but made a man exception for a repeat customer. Can’t find an LFS in 50mile radius of Chicago that sells and worthwhile acros :(.

I have heard it's a struggle coral for many. I have a small piece grown from a nub, and it's a SLOW grower for me. Mine is crazy colored though, it's a quite distinct coral, and not a cheap one by any means.

3 years ago my WD was a pencil nub for $100. It started in my 120. I dropped it when I took down the 120 and it went into the 45. Its now on a 3' disc in my 80g.
Its getting better color every week.

No name green tenuis.

I’m also in Chicago and I don’t even try to get coral at stores. I strickly buy and trade with other hobbyists and a few guys who sell as their side hustle.

Jason Fox Flame. Grows well, pretty hardy as far as acros go and great color day and night. I feel like frags go for pretty cheap now.

Oregon Tort, can be more expensive. Frogskin in front, great grower and cheap. I feel like blue and purple pieces are a score now but you'll need whiter spectrums to really enjoy them. Part of why I think the demand dropped off on some of the OG pieces, they get lost in the mix in bluer light.

really any millepora will turn out super nice if you spot them in a LFS frag tank.
Tyree Pinky the Bear and CC Voodoo Majick are going for sub $100 (still kinda pricey) but you get that Vivid Confetti growth structure at a cheaper price point. Still very cool color combos in them too with the needle like polyps.

Confetti under whites (i've seen them sub $100 in SoCal)

Oh and Hawkins

ASD Doomsday - I believe it's the same as marvin the martian and a few others. Very cool white base to it

ASD Rainbow Millepora aren't to crazy, just need to be selective as I think a few different ones were released. Mine ran $50

This pic doesn’t do it justice! It’s a nice bright WILD yellow milli with a golden tint to it and green polyps got as a trade for an aggressive lightning clown from the LFS. He was selling these frags for $45. We both won. lightning clown got a new home in the display tank at the store and I got this nice piece.

Here some of my favorite cheap acros. These cost less than $40 altogether. Oh, and my tank is only just hitting the 6-month mark, been growing some since the 3-month mark. These have all been in the tank for 2 months so far.

This looks like the Sungod milli I have, I put a picture of it up above.

All my acros and SPS in my reef are so far from the mid to low double digit range :)

Looking to see some inexpensive acros that are underrated, forgotten about, hidden gems. The usual will show up like, pink lemonade, red planet, and Oregon tort. What else you got for us? Pics would be appreciated.

For example: Coral Euphoria Dracarys $65

Terrible phone pic, slow grower but great colors that I just can’t capture with my phone.

Hobbyists only sells nice acros in Chicago. Wojtek has Orange Passion for sale. I’m sure Ryan Cumminghan has one too

No idea on names but for $30 bucks each for chunky, mini colonies is a bargain in my book. I love living in SoCal and having so many Lfs's!
