Prolly asking for a butt kicking but I couldnt find any info on it via google....

The cheap 10000k ebay leds that come in strips, various lengths, in white or 440nm, would they be worth it at all? I am starting a 10g and was thinking of doing two of the 10000k white strips in 18", one of the 440nm and then one more 440 for night....Or no?

Im wanting to do softs only for now is what Im hoping to set up the lighting for. I was kinda leaning towards a clip on beamswork, I had a 48" beamswork on my freshwater and really liked it BUT hated not being able to timer both lights and messed it up trying to ad a cord lol.

one more quick question. Just to be sure.

Can get a quad t5 setup, 2 10000k and 2 actinic, plus 2 moonlight led's, with seperate power cords on them and it says its 72w, doesnt say lumen.

Or, 18 x 1w led setup with 15-10000k and 3 460nm, 1300 lumen, then one moonlight stip. Both setups would be the same price and fit my wants. But, which is better looking light?
The 72w would be brighter wouldnt it? But would it be more yellow?

Don't worry about lumens, that's dealing with brightness. Your main concern with corals or anything that requirea light to grow for that matter is PAR. Photosynthetically Active Radiation.

The 4 bulb T5 would be good for your 10g project. Don't worry about color Being yellow, you can change the bulbs out to give yourself a different color spectrum.

As far as the LEDs go, you may get away with what you posted. However, if those don't have PAR producing numbers, then it wont work.

I would seek a LED fixture that uses 3w diodes at least with a 50/50 mix of blue and whites. They have some on certain sites that sell them
