AC/DC Air pump automatically turns on when power is lost and will run on 2 D batteries for just under 5 days. We just added one to our new 30g nano:

We purchased several from an online retailer for $14.99. We elected to swap out the included clear airline tubing and small blue air stone with black tubing and a dark grey, ball shaped air stone (not necessary), but we like the look better.

You plug it into your AC outlet. In the event of a power failure, the unit will automatically turn on and supply aeration to your tank.

Power interrupter sensor. Power goes out and battery kicks in.

Just make sure to put those stones on your cleaning schedule, they clog up with algae and won't allow air to flow if you neglect them.

These are good to have when the power goes out and you are at home. The B11's will turn on automatically when the power goes out.

We test ours every few weeks as well to make sure the batteries are good. We also swap out the air line tubing once coralline algae takes over as we like ours to blend into the back wall. Some folks use rigid air line tubing without the stones.
