Cheap LED Lighting 36"

well yes they will put light in the tank but that about it. there only .5 W led weak they would work if you only work if you're running a FOWLR but at some point you might want to try coral I strongly doubt they could keep any.

tell us more about your tank, what are your goals and needs. then we can help suggest something. there are a few budget friendly lights out there but nothing that cheap.

welcome BTW

So it seems like you're going for budget. If so then I assume you don't want the really nice LEDs like Kessil and Hydras because they're crazy expensive. For a 36" tank you get could 1 or 2 chinese LEDs depending on what you want. If its going to be SPS dominated probably 2, but if its softies, LPS and a few SPS under the higher light areas you can get away with one. I use the GalaxyHydro 55x3. Current power is 60% blue 50% white, I'm growing anemones on the substrate and SPS in the middle of the tank. The fixture will have no problem handling any high light species but towards the edge it will most likely start to be a little less strong because the reach isn't meant for 36". Where it gets dim on the sides I just put some softies and they're doing awesome.

I ordered this light 2 days ago so I will review it after I've had it for a couple weeks:

I run 2 SB Reef Lights 16" on my 36" tank and could not be happier. I would highly recommend them.

I have the same exact light, works great. Zoas have grown three new heads in a week
