Cheap, reliable, controllable Power heads

So purchased the ice cap gyres and they are too loud for my liking and keep getting louder. Have taken them out and cleaned 6 times since I purchased in August with no help to the noise. I am currently looking for new ones but don’t want to lose an arm and a leg purchasing them. I want controllable so I can make sure I’m not blasting my LPS’s.
