Cheap solution to forgetting to turn ATO back on ?

I keep forgetting to turn my ATO back on when I have to do stuff on the tank. This has an impact on salinity that I would like to avoid.

I don’t want to buy a complete monitoring system; just the ATO.

What’s an affordable solution besides getting a new brain ?

Follow aviation procedure and have a written checklist and tick things off as you do them

Those are good ideas but there is a chance I forget to set an alarm of write it. For example, I turn the ATO off when I empty the skimmer cup. This is just a small intervention so I wouldn’t think of setting an alarm.

Any techno gadget I could use ? Just something that sets off an alarm when power to a device is cut off ?

In that case, the alarm would sound when you turned off the ATO initially. Without an Apex, you need to tie a piece of string around your finger or follow others' suggestions above.
