I wanted to see what opinions are on this light... Not having much money and this was in my savings range for a new light upgrade for my 55gl rebuild.
I bought it from Ebay for 149 dollars.

hahaha funny ive been looking at the same lamp... i bought a similar one to this before and it was only (4 bank x 36") 80$ other than two of the clamps for a bulb cracking after about a year and a half of use (remedied with 2 paper clips) i have gotten my moneys worth. im going to buy it myself, that or the 6 bank. i think the unit is fine as long as you swap the stock bulbs with some quality ATI's or KZ's etc. i personally have been very satisfied with my cheapie fixture, i still use the good bulbs though.

I have an 8 bulb one I got off EBAY, it works great. Not sure if thats the same one, but it has good reflectors. And of course I didn't use their bulbs. 8 bulbs was too much light for anything but acors in my 18 inch deep tank.

Hey thanks guys... this is going in my 55gl high... should be more than atiquate for the tank. The other 2 55gls tanks and hoods are my wifes for germinating our veggies before they go into our new 6'x8' green house. This year is save money and DIY... I had torn apart 3 t-8's 48" with different watts, 2 t-12 24" and a couple 24" t-5's and was going to make a hood for my 55gl and when the Wife saw me on the kitchen table going over all the wiring and bulb work she said... " I have been reading about t-5's and how they are 15% more energy efficient than t-8's so why don't you buy new lighting" WOWOW! and she is going to take the old hoods and bulbs and buy grow lights... So I bought the ebay specials... :) Can't wait to finally have better lighting!

Id change the bulbs but I like the cheaper stuff I got a metal halide light on there there is like none other ive seen its awesome the lights are on a swivel and you can actually aim them where you want its hard to explaing but its awesome

Great! Thank you for the link!! I'm looking for 6 bulb fixture but will settle for 4.

Could not be happier with this purchase, lights all came on and i now have it hanging over the 55glh. I will be upgrading the bulbs with FishBeards advise... Thanks bro!!!

They came in yesterday

I am happy to say that I have installed the new lights from Ebay and I am very happy with the purchase... I would buy from them again.

I will be going with FishBeard's advise about bulb configuration when I save up more money but for now I am running the default bulbs that it came with.
Here are some pics...
***Please disregard the 55glh as this is a tank build that I will be posting once it is done. Thanks

All the bulb running

So each reflector actually wraps around 2 bulbs? This is not individual reflectors? Bulb arrangement may need to be tweaked a little from my last recommendation. Will work better keeping similar bulbs in pairs. Just shoot me a message when you are going to buy bulbs.
