Cheato Light Cycles Help

Hello,

I was running my cheato reactor opposite of my light cycle. I was doing this to stabilize my PH. However, it sucked my nitrates from 10 ppm to approx 1 ppm in 4 days! This is too low for me and I was wondering...

What is the minimum light cycle that one would use for cheato / other algea.

Can I use a 30 min on / 30 min off to help ease the nutrient uptake? Or, is this too stressful on the algea.

I would shorten the light cycle, specifically at the end of the dt cycle (before lights out) When it's ph at its highest.

Your welcome. It's a fine balance I imagine. Pulling some chato out may help but also may not effect the ph imagine
