I have a fluval 70 hob filter that i'm planning on throwing some cheato in and need to know what type of light I need to use on this. also do I want to run the light opposite of the sbreef lights I run during the day. cause I do believe there is some bleed over from those lights?

Lighting towards the red end of the spectrum is ideal for growing algae. As for the duration time period, monitor the Chaeto and then you will get a better idea as to whether or not you need to run lights longer.

Red & blue LED grow light are the best I have found by far. You can actually buy some starting at $.01 on Amazon. Although to be honest I don’t think your going to get enough cheeto in there to matter if the tank is more than 10-12 gallons. A small ATS in the same HOB space would out perform the cheeto.

You can use window tint to stop bleed over. But the green color of the plastic is going to stop a lot of it.

If you want a small light, pm me. I will hook you up for Christmas.

I plan on taking the top off of the HOB filter and covering it with egg crate. works great for my corals not much light taken away so. that's the route I plan on going

i'm looking at the Philips light

The I used higher watage one like the first link with ok results. I would not bother with them. Red & blue LED grow light will work much better. If you want screw in ones here is just two examples of many. https://amzn.to/2S4LUx2, https://amzn.to/2BoWJ60.
I use 2 of these and love them. So do my cheeto, ATS and mangroves.https://amzn.to/2Llrg9w
