Morning all

Recently (like 2 days) I started my fuge proper. Got a double golf ball size bit.

It doesn’t seem to be doing much ie it won’t float. I’ve pinned it in place with the salinity meter to get higher and closer to the light.

I’m using some hand me down lights on an 8 hour cycle.

Any thoughts or suggestions greatly received.

It doesnt usually float around. Mine actually sits at the bottom of the sump where there is little flow.

After a few weeks if your light is decent then you notice growth

Were expecting to see something in two days?

Well photosynthesis takes place immediately does it not? Wasn’t expecting growth but everything I’ve read says it produces oxygen and floats.

Thanks for the very constructive comment though

It is wise to understand the question before trying to answer it. Have a nice day.

Mine does not float. In fact, all cheato I’ve ever had sits where I place it unless it’s being hit with a wave pump.

8 hours is not much illumination duration, especially if intensity is weak.
