Cheato not grow

I’m running kessil floral h80 and cheato still
Same size after 1 month. My nitrate pretty high last week,but i brought down to 2 right now. Phosphate should not high due to gfo. I have a lot of brown algea and some green algea. What wrong to my cheato? I set to grow mode and run 12 hours after light from DT turned off

If you're running gfo, it's likely that the chaeto cannot uptake any nutrients as the gfo is removing it. Try taking your gfo offline for a bit and see if the chaeto improves.

But brown hair algea is growing very strong in there and I beleive phosphate not too low to remove all nutrients

Hair algae is able to uptake nutrients much faster than your chaeto. Manually remove it to give your chaeto a chance, and take the gfo offline.

Magnesium first, and don’t supplement anything until you test first to make sure you need it

And of course as others have pointed out, Gfo and other algae’s are competing, as well as growing on and blocking light

Sometimes Cheato isn’t the best choice, try caulerpra

I just removed gfo 2 days and add more flow for my fuge. My cheato green back and seem like it growing pretty strong with no issue.
